Edinburgh: John Menzies. Original brown stamped cloth. Preface dated 1882. Bookplate, previous owner's neat name in ink, starting to crack inside both covers but still tight, few pencil notations, Good. Inscribed by the author: "To the Editor of The Free Press with the authors compliments." On the last page are three corrections made in the author's hand with the same ink used in the inscription. The folding map is present in the rear pocket. . Good. Hardcover.
