Fourth edition, to which is added AN ACCOUNT OF ARCHITECTS AND ARCHITECTURE, TOGETHER WITH AN HISTORICAL, ETYMOLOGICAL EXPLANATION OF CERTAIN TERMS PARTICLARLY AFFECTED BY ARCHITECTS, by John Evelyn, Leon Baptista Alberti's TREATISE OF STATUES, and Wotten's THE ELEMENTS OF ARCHITECTURE. [20]+xxxviii+115+[6]+74pp. Illustrated with many engravings including 40 full page. Original leather boards with new decorative spine and endpapers. Boards are well worn but the spine is quite handsome in fresh brown leather with maroon title panel. Many owner notes made to pastedowns over the centuries. Top page margins are sharply toned throughout. There are periodic dampstains in the lower margins and several instance of pencilled reader notes. Pages otherwise very clean with very little foxiing, and securely bound. Overall Good. (cfm)
