Inscribed and signed by Carle with an original 3" X 4" drawing of the moon.
A fine copy without any tears to the fold-outs in a similarly fine dust wrapper. An uncommon first in nice condition, signed copies are scarcer yet.
Synopsis
Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me In this unique and delightful picture book, the story literally unfolds as pages open dramatically, extending both outward and upward. Monica wants the moon to play with, so her Papa sets out to get it for her. It isn't easy to climb all the way up to the moon, but he finally succeeds -- only to find that the moon is too big to carry home! The way in which this problem is solved is a joyful surprise. Here is a multi-faceted story that appeals to children visually, verbally and emotionally, and which also contains a first lesson in natural history, depicting the eternal cycle of the waxing and waning of the moon. The simple text, just right for reading aloud or for the beginning reader expresses perfectly the purity of a father's love for his child. Returns Policy:
All books returnable in original condition for any reason within 30 days of receipt. Please contact us ahead of time so we can expect the package.
While we do not anticipate a problem, if the book is not to your satisfaction for any reason, we will refund your full purchase price, including shipping cost, and pay for the return postage. If you'd like to return the book for a reason other than dis-satisfaction, we will refund the purchase price of the book and ask you to incur the return postage cost.
Shipping Policy:
Domestic shipping costs are $6 for the first book and $1.75 for each additional book. If you are charged an incorrect amount at time of purchase, we will contact you for any adjustment.
All books are sent media mail within the US. Priority shipping is available -- please contact us for details. International shipping is at cost.
Because condition is so important to us, we take extreme care to ensure that your order arrives in the same condition as sent. Each item will be wrapped in multiple layers of protection and we always ship in a new cardboard box.
