Bill Pronzini's third novel has Jack Lennox witnessing the cold-blooded murder by contract by two well-dressed man. He manages to escape into the surrounding desert but is seen by the assassins. The chase is on. Spine slightly cocked. Traces of foxing to front and top edges of the book and front and rear endpapers.
