London: Valpy, 1828. four volumes complete, rebound recent cloth, new endpapers, text block edges marbled, discreet ownership stamp on title page, of Dublin Jesuit residency; the text throughout generally pristine. Paginated continuously throughout all four volumes, vi, 2510, plus 70-page index. The book was part of a library set of Valpy's Delphin series, bound originally in calf. Over the decades, polluted city air caused the leather spines to decay, while leaving the books otherwise undamaged. Text and notes all in Latin. There are a few small illustrations in the text, apparently from coins or medallions depicting the emperors dealt with in the speeches. A heavy set - weight approx. 4kg.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
