Octavo (7 7/8 x 5 1/4 inches) [5] 170 pages, illustrated with black and white cartoon drawings of a California bear cub in a variety of humorously themed culinary poses at the beginning of each section; 595 recipes organized by participating countries at the Panama Pacific Exposition. Slightly shelf worn, decorative label in color on upper cover representing the Palace of Fine Art surrounded by flowers and cornucopias overflowing with food. Similarly, slightly worn black and white paper emblem on back cover depicting a sailing vessel laden with food surrounded by a Latin motto reflecting the culinary aspect of the Fair. Index by subjects, and alphabetical index. "A sampler from various cuisines exhibited at the Pan-Pacific exposition." (One Hundred Books on California Food & Wine) Recipe for stuffed Turkey from Guatemala.
