Pp. x, 148; 23 full page black-and-white plates, numerous text-figures and maps, many are large and folding. White and blue laminated boards (hardcover), lettered in black on the spine and front cover, lg 8vo. This work is divided into 9 chapters and 3 appendices written by the 13 contributors to the volume. This is Part I only. Part II, which completes the work, was published in 1974. It appears that Part I is scarce when compared to Part II which appears more common. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
