Octavo (21cm); black glazed cloth, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; dustjacket; [8],9-195,[5]pp. Subtle tanning to text edges, else a fresh, Fine copy. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $2.00), with light wear to extremities, and four small closed tears along the upper edge; a bright, Near Fine copy. An attractive copy of O'Hara's fourth novel, recounting the "ups and downs of a second-rate crooner told in epistolary style" (Hanna 2703). Basis for George Sidney's 1957 musical comedy starring Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth, and Kim Novak. Bruccoli IV.1.
