Beautiful green covers with bright gold on black titling on spine. Corners are slightly bumped. Fly page has old tape marks and has some discoloring. All other pages unmarked, clean and crisp. DJ is Good: Chipped top on spine, three 1" tears at top of front and one smaller tear on top, back; edges show some shelfwear. 232 pp., 12 color plates, 117 illus., index. Basic Tx. Bks. #164-this is by far the best work on art in early Texas. Discusses more than 60 artists who painted in Texas during the 19th Century. This is a large book.
