First editions. Volume I contains History of Japanese Painting from the Pre-Buddhist Period t the Kamakura Period (552-1333) by Ichitaro Kondo; Volume II continues this es from 1334 (Muromachi Period) to 1867 (Edo Period). The inner front hinge of Volume I has been strengthened, and the dust jacket on Volume II is heavily t and crumpled.
