About This Item
The show premiered in 1891. On November 6, 1893, it was produced at the Boston Museum, with Courtes in the role of Pierrot Senior. The pantomime had a long life. In 1907, Michael Carre directed a film version, and it was the first feature-length motion picture produced in Europe (but without Courtes). The signed inscription reads: "A Monsieur Colesworthy's W. G. / Bon Souvenir d'un Pierrot de passage / a Boston / de Pere Pierrot de l'Enfant Prodigues / Courtes / Comedien Francais.". Soft cover. Near Fine.
