An offprint from the Proceedings of the British Academy, Vol. VIII.THIS IS NOT BY THE GEORGE MACDONALD WHO WAS A GREAT INFLUENCE ON C. S. LEWIS. It is by the archeologist George MacDonald. It was in the Maurice Sendak collection so apparently he was mistaken. It was a lecture by George MacDonald about Brown. Peter Hume Brown was a Scottish historian and professor. This book comes from the library of Maurice Sendak. Sendak was a prominent author and illustrator of children's books best known for his book "Where the Wild Things Are". He was a recipient of the Hans Christian Anderson Award for his lasting contribution to children's literature. No publish date listed. Softcover with title and printing information on the front grayish cover. 6 pp. Not in Shaberman. VG. Covers a bit browned with age and binding slightly loose.
