About This Item
London: Chatto & Windus, 1929. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A very scarce review copy of a new novel format of this popular play by Sutton Vane. A review copy of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Sutton Vane (1888-1963) was a British playwright, best known for his play Outward Bound (1923), in which a group of seven passengers on an ocean liner discover that they are dead, and that they are being judged over the course of the voyage. The play was a great success, and was subsequently made into a film starring Leslie Howard and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. This work is a review copy of the first novel format of the play, with a publisher's slip loosely inserted. This work is very scarce to find in this format. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with fading to the spine and marks to the rear board. Spine is slightly cocked. Light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age toned but clean. Very Good
