Honolulu: Bamboo Ridge Press, 1997. Paperback. 199p., wraps, 6x9 inches, very good. Signed and inscribed by Saijo on the dedication page. A lyrical memoir from the Nisei writer. Saijo was born in Los Angeles to Issei parents and was incarcerated at Heart Mountain during World War II. He was later drafted and served with the 100th Battalion. Following the war, he became interested in Zen Buddhism and befriended Jack Kerouac and other Beat Writers.
