Description:
The Outlook, Inc.. Good with no dust jacket. 1915. Softcover. Edges of paper covers are sunned and frayed; textblock has no defects. . An especially interesting issue of this weekly news magazine. The Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat, provoking an American outrage that is reflected in the pages of this issue, and probably did more than any other single event to propel the United States to enter the First World War. 1195 passengers and crew perished, including 123 Americans. Also in this issue are articles on Japan and China, focusing on Japan's "Monroe Doctrine, " Theodore Roosevelt's libel suit, lasting two months and eventually exonerating him, a summary of events in the war, including several full-page b/w photos, an essay on Billy Sunday, an article entitled, "Why Mexico is a Thorn in our Side, " many pages of fascinating ads, both personal and commercial, and more. . Small 4to 9" - 11" tall. 55 pages. J6 .

Description:
The Outlook Company, 1919. Wednesday, May 7, 1919, Volume 122 : It's actually been through the war, or five. Fair Hardcover Octavo with no dust jacket, periodical. The green cloth boards of this immense tome are fraying at the edges, are rubbed, and have soiling. The interior is yellowing. There is a large water stain towards the rear of the book, but it does not obscure any printing. The rear hinge is cracked down to the webbing at the FEP. There is also one ad that someone cut in two, and half is missing. Very interesting period piece! Articles include "Germany To-Day", "Disintegrating Germany", "Slacker Among Nations", "What the World Owes Germany". And the advertisements are a scream! NOT A REPRINT! Printed in 1919 RARE EDITION / ANTIQUE. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Book.
