Cambridge University Press, 1912 241 pages. Cover very worn and stained, and edges and corners bumped and creased. Pages yellowed with age, and have some foxing and water stains. Notes written by previous author on inside of front cover and on first page have been scribbled out in ink. Notes by a previous owner written in pencil on last (blank) page - and notes written on inside of back cover. Previous owner has also made notes in pencil on certain pages. Book includes a selection of small pull-out maps - one of which appears to be missing, possibly cut out by previous owner. Ex libris: Joseph H. Sayle - railway worker, trades unionist - and father of writer and comedian Alexei Sayle! Joseph Sayle's name and address (17 Robson St, Liverpool) written in ink on first page. Condition consistent with age of book. A history of the British Empire, from 1500 to 1911.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket.
