New York: Chelsea House, 1928. Book. Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. When a sheriff is sick and unable to maintain law and order, his brother, who has a mysterious reputation, fills in and does an admirable job. Green cloth w/black lettering to front cover/spine, 247 pages + four pages of advertisements for other Chelsea House titles. Mildly cocked, discolouration to fore-edge of front cover, edge soil, tanning, some off-setting to pastedowns, light internal soil, in edgeworn dust jacket w/edge tears, chipping, creasing, pieces torn from top and bottom spine, previous owner's tape repairs to reverse, general wear. Uncommon in a dust jacket (this one now in a protective mylar sleeve). (Too many books and/or jackets offered on the Internet are graded as VG or better when they're barely G, so grading at this address is conservative in order to prevent disappointment at your end.).
