Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. The only published novel by the famous investigator and compiler of anomolous events. In a mixed contemporary review the New York Times called this novel "a vivid picture of a sordid and unpleasant phase of life" that is "permeated with a certain grim humor." . EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
