Collins, London and Glasgow, 1955. Edition Unstated. Hardcover. Good Condition/Good. Biography of author, introduction by Oliver Warner and bibliography. Illustrated end pages, being the publisher's initials entwined multiple times. Green coloured tint to the top text edge. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. An omnibus edition of two books the first two novels written by the author – 1895 and 1896 – which reflect his state of mind and revealed is values. The stories are based upon his own experiences as a sailor, and his themes of destruction / disintegration of a men due to their own base natures. A little sunning of the back strip edges and rubbing of the other book edges. Fading of the book edges with light tanning of the text block edges and pages stop Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with a few chips to the lower edge of the front panel and creasing to the top edge of the rear panel.
