LONDON: ROUTLEDGE, WARNE, & ROUTLEDGE, 1860 Publisher's crimson cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine and blind blocked decorative boards, 175 x 115 mm approx. Original yellow made end papers, viii + 200 pp. Colour chromolithographic frontis with tissue guard+ 7 others as called for + numerous unspecified line figs in text. 1860. Fair (Book- spine sunned with shelf wear to cloth at extremities commensurate with age, no cracks to end papers, discreet original bookseller label to rear paste down. a few sporadic foxing marks to reverse of frontis. glue to back strip failing with consequential straining to signatures , sewing holding. Fore edge of a number of pages ragged from not having been guillotined in course of binding and subsequently carelessly opened. No annotations or other notable defects.
