About This Item
London: Charles Tilt, 1839. Six engravings of English flowers published in Our Wild Flowers. Two have black ink on upper left corner. 4 5/8 x 7 3/8". Meredith is a well-known botanical artist who illustrated this book before she migrated to Australia (1839) where she drew fascinating flora & insects with a beautifully composed Victorian sensibility. Meredith continued painting in Tasmania until she passed in 1895.
