Brown endpapers. Rust colored cloth spine and pictorial front cover in black and gold (a bit rubbed), rear board in brown leather blindstamped, with gilt title. Wear to spine ends and edges. One plate depicts a striking image of a woman with an axe fending off Indians entitled "A Pioneer Woman Makes Desperate Work." ZINMAN: Canvassing Books 995.
