New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. First Edition, Second Printing . Blue Cloth, Gilt. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. Photographs, Drawings, Etc.. Second printing without Scriber's seal and "A" on copyright page. Covers flecked, gilt still bright. Inscribed " For Rudolph Forster, who knows much more about the history of the United States, very much more, than the writer of this book ever knew or is likely to learn, Mark Sullivan, January 25, 1933". Forster was chief clerk of the Executive Office of the President circa 1897-1943, through all Republican and Democratic administrations, a man whom Franklin Roosevelt described as "without faults".
