Hilfinger's/Menke's photographs celebrate the heroism of those proud American people whose brave response to 9/11 was to put flag stickers on their SUV's and pronto. As Menke says in her introduction, "Patriotism is a way of life". Indeed. The depth of Hilfinger's generosity is touted in the colophon: "Net Proceeds from the sale of "Our New York" will go to the Twin Towers Fund, which supports victims' families". That's NET proceeds.
