New York: Forest and Stream Publishing Co., 1886 Sienna brown cloth; gilt title and spine lettering; black ink cover illustration of two seated native figures, from rear, with distant view of canoe, mountains. Decorated endpapers. With black-and-white reproductions from sketches, frontispiece and within text, and rear folding map depicting routes of Pacific Coast Steamship Company (Inside Passage). Detailed travelogue of the period. Heavy wear to cover corners and spine tips; upper half-inch of spine cloth missing; fraying and slight loss to tail of spine; corner cloth rubbed away to boards underneath. Light-to-moderate soil of cover cloth. Front hinge paper split and neatly glue-repaired. Only library mark is bookplate affixed to second blank front endpaper; half-inch closed tear to lower edge of this page has been repaired with archival tape; first blank front endpaper missing. Text with few very faint pencil markings (could be erased), but otherwise clean and tight. Prior owner name, date written small on front endpaper.
