Chapman and Hall,1869. In 8, cm 15 x 23, pp. XVIII + 428 + 20. With 21 tipped-in woodcut plates, 3 of which in watercolours, many taken from photographs by Kerr, Beato.
19th century 3/4 leather brown half calf over marbled boards, gilt on spine with 5 raised bands. Spine darkened. Only minor shelf wear to binding. Some foxing on endpapers. Pages very good, slightly browned, but no foxing or spots, markijngs or notes. All paper edges very nicely marbled.
