The author's presentation copy, inscribed to his son. The second revised edition of this volume, dated from Jisc [1883] A work by Frederick S Williams on the history of travelling and transportation, detailing the rise and progress of the humanising industries from the old coaching days and the troubles in travelling to the railways and the issue of goods and minerals traffic. An interesting volume on one of the most sides of history: the industrial progress. The author's presentation copy, inscribed to his son dated 1883 "Alfred Percy Williams with his father's love."With a conclusion and an Index to the rear, as well as six pages of publisher's advertisement and reviews to the rear. Illustrated throughout with various illustrations in text. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally sound withs light shelfwear and a slight shelfwear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, and a slight cracking to the joint to rear joint and a slight marking to the rear board. With a library bookplate to the front pastedown. Author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to his son to the front free endpaper "Alfred Percy Williams with his father's love," dated September 1883. Internally, firly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated throughout with various in text illustrations. Very Good
