First edition, first impression (Hodder & Stoughton, 1995). Signed and inscribed by the author to the title page with his real name (David Cornwell). Very rare signed in this way. One of a smaller print run due to the author's dislike of the dust jacket. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt lettering to spine map endpapers and ribbon marker. Slightest hint of a spine slant with some cracking to half-title hinge, but still a near fine book or better, with boards and contents free from marks or inscriptions. The original and unclipped dust jacket is in fine condition with just very trivial traces of wear to spine head. A superb copy bearing a very rare author signature.
