Ottawa, Ontario / Grand Rapids, Michigan.: Published for A.H. & S. J. Jarvis of Ottawa by James Bayne of Grand Rapids.. Very Good. Soft Cover. 12mo - 17.5 x 22.5 cm. (oblong); Unpaginated with 80 pages. Blue wraps with gilt lettering and a coloured side bar on the front. No date of publication is given but known to be the early 1900's (1903 to ~1913). Decorative blue string binding next to the glued spine as issued and the covers have a 3 mm yap on all open edges. Seventy-six of the pages are photographic plates with captions. One of the pages is a 2 page panoramic fold-out. The first 4 pages are the title page, the publisher's statement and a 2 page introduction. The paper used is a high quality coated stock. The yapped edges are creased (fold lines over the text block) and show some minor chipping. The lettering and the gilt borders in the central part of the front in the head margin are faded or sunned. Otherwise, a clean interior and a solid binding. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. .

Illustrated blue paper covers tied with green string. Slightly roughened edges. Views of Ottawa include the Parliament buildings, monuments, street scenes, parks, churches, schools, bridges, etc. In many ways these photos resemble Canada's capital as it is today - but glimpses of electric street cars, horses and wagons, rifle ranges and ladies shopping in long skirts show us the city of yesteryear.
