Synopsis
Evelyn Lau's first book, Runaway: Diary of a Street Kid , was published in 1989 when she was eighteen. It became a Canadian bestseller and was recently made into a CBC-TV movie. Lau is also the author of the acclaimed book of short stories Fresh Girls and Other Stories , as well as three poetry collections. In 1992 she became the youngest poet ever to be nominated for the Governor General's Award. Evelyn Lau lives and works in Vancouver.
