Boston: Atlantic-Monthly / Little Brown, 1947. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Inscribed by the author to Paul Cubeta on the fly leaf. Paul Cubeta was the assistant director of the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference while Ciardi was the head director. 1947, First Edition. The author's second book. A Near Fine, square, clean copy in a Very Good dust jacket that is faded along the spine and edges. DJ now in a mylar wrap. The Bread Loaf Writers' Conference is an annual literary event held in Middlebury, Vermont. In addition to his role as assistant director, Paul Cubeta was the director of The Bread Loaf School of English from 1964-1989. Ciardi was the head director of the conference from 1955 to 1972. An excellent association copy, linking two of the most influential contributors to the conference.
