Edinburgh: W.H. Lizars, 1836. Hardcover. Very good condition. 30 fine copper engravings of parrots with original hand color. Many parrots illustrated are Australian and are after Edward Lear including the Leadbeater cockatoo. 12mo, 187pp, 4, plus wraps, 36 pp adds with prospectus. Frontispiece portrait , color illustrated, engraved title & 30 fine hand colored steel engravings of parrots. Original brown cloth boards, text loose in boards, spine defective with large chip at top. A very wide margined copy, sold as a collection of plates, in very good condition.
