Self Published. Good with no dust jacket; Covers rubbed and soiled, front hinge cracked . and tender, rear hinge cracked.. 1905. Eighth Edition. Hardcover. Blindstamped red pebbled cloth with titles stamped in gilt on front boards and spine. 152 pages in English providing baking hints and recipes for cakes, cookies, candies, pies, breads, pretzels, flavoring extracts, ice creams and ices, preserves, soda water syrups, and the various fondants, gum pastes, spun sugar, and other ornamental confections for cake decoration. Pages 153-223 are in German and contain recipes and instructions for German fine bakeries. This is followed by a 94 page section printed in brown ink providing designs and instructions for cake decorations with many plates for elaborate molds and ornamentation. Some of them are quite Baroque. There follows a catalogue and price for H. Hueg & Co. , of Long Island City, New York, again printed in brown ink, describing tools for bakers and confectioners with many illustrations. The book concludes with indices in English and German. Cagle 389 describes first and second editions. Bitting records the tenth edition. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
