Bound in contemporary crushed black morocco, gilt lettering with five raised bands back, front cover with two pterodactyls under the sun in gilt, marbled end papers, ornate inner gilt dentelles, top edge gilt. Near Fine, small rubs to morocco at head of spine. Rosny was one of the founders of science fiction in France, second in importance only to Jules Verne. This book is a study of the prehistoric age, a subject about which Rosny later wrote an important series of novels.. First Edition. Crushed Morocco. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
