Print. Very Good. Unframed. A fine original hand-coloured copper engraving of sea urchins from L'ENCYCLOPEDIE, OU DICTIONNAIRE RAISONNE DES SCIENCES, DES ARTS ET DES METIERS by Diderot & d'Alembert. This monumental work was published between 1751 & 1772 originally comprising 17 volumes of text and 11 volumes of plates. This fine large original print, Plate LIX is in very good condition, there is a single foxing spot to the centre of the plate (please see image) the print area measuring 22.5cm x 36cm, the actual paper size being 24.7 x 40.5cm and was published in C. 1760. The cream coloured paper is watermarked. A superb and decorative plate - we have two other complementary plates from this work, the three making a fine set, a discount is available for the three - please inquire. 0.
