About This Item

Philadelphia: Macrae Smith Company, 1972. Very Good. Title page vignette of a football player. Original pen and ink drawing on thick textured paper measuring 15.5" x 15", tipped-on artist's board (neatly detached) with a tissue paper overlay. Signed by the artist. Light old glue stain on the back of the sheet and board from when it was mounted, very good. Joe Archibald, known for his incisive, in-depth sports novels, here tells the story of Randy Stark, who is determined to revive the fortunes of Ogden State's faltering football team. A fine, impressionistic drawing by Chauncy, who illustrated many of Archibald's books. Accompanied by a very good ex-library copy of the book in very good dustwrapper for comparison.
