Multi-Folded. Some Wear With Light Fraying. Scott Rathbone "Scotty" Beal (1890 - 1973) Was A Film Assistant Director. Born In Quinnesec, Michigan, He Began His Career As An Actor In 1915, Before Switching To The Other Side Of The Camera The Following Year. He Also Occasionally Doubled Up As A Production Manager And A Cinematographer. As An Assistant Director, He Worked On Tod Browning's Dracula (1931) And Robert Florey's Murders In The Rue Morgue' (1932). [See Wikipedia]. The Son Of Director Frank Beal And Actress Louise Lester, Scott Beal Was Born In Quinnesec, Michigan. After Gaining Some Experience As A Stage Actor, He Headed To California To Break Into The Film Industry. Although He Did Find A Few Jobs As An Actor, Most Of His Work Was Behind The Camera, As An Assistant Director, Camera Operator And Director. He Found His Niche As An Assistant Director, However, And Spent The Majority Of His Career In That Field, Gaining A Reputation As One Of The Most Respected A.D.S In The Business. He Received An Academy Award As Best Assistant Director In 1932, And Was Nominated For Another In 1935. [See Imdb]. John Clark "Jack" Okey (June 3, 1889 - January 8, 1963) Was An American Art Director. He Was Raised In Los Angeles And Attended The Harvard School For Boys. After Leaving, He Was Given Instruction In Art By His Uncle, The California Artist, J. Bond Francisco. While He Was In His Early 20S, He Traveled To Paris With His Friend Stanton Macdonald Wright, And Spent Several Years There Studying Art. Around The Time Of His Marriage In 1913, He Became Involved In The Nascent Film Industry In The Los Angeles Area And Was Involved In The Design And Construction Of Some Of The Earliest Studios There. He Continued In The Film Industry As An Art Director Until His Retirement In 1959. In The Mid-1930S He Spent Several Years In England Working For Alexander Korda, Designing Studios For Him. After His Return To The United States, He Spent The Remainder Of His Active Career Working For Rko. He Was Nominated For Two Academy Awards For Art Direction, 1929 And 1944; His Best Known Film Is "It'S A Wonderful Life".
