AGAINST AMERICAN CONTROL OF THE OREGON TERRITORY, WHICH AT THAT TIME ENCOMPOSSED WASHINGTON AND BRITISH COLUMBIA AND WAS HELD JOINTLY BY BRITAIN AND AMERICA. "Thom was personally familiar with the country and here ably sets forth the British claims to it. An important work when studying the Pacific Northwest" (Jenkins). From 2002 until 2013 he taught advanced graduate level courses in Rare Books and Special Collections (Palmer School of Library and Information Science at Long Island University, and the School of Information at The University of Texas at Austin School of Information).
