The label on the outer slipcase reads: "THIS VOLUME WAS USED BY THE FOUNDERS AT THEIR MEETINGS IN 1902 AND 1903 IN FOUNDING SIGMA NU PHI FRATERNITY (LEGAL) . THE VOLUME WAS THE PERSONAL COPY OF JAMES ARCHIBALD BAILEY THE SECOND LORD HIGH CHANCELLOR OF THE FRATERNITY AND WAS PRESENTED TO HIM BY THE FRATERNITY ON DEC. 15, 1933, AFTER HAVING BEEN IN HIS POSSESSION MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS". INSCRIBED AND DATED ON HALF TITLE BY JAMES ARCHIBALD BAILEY. Bookplate reads - Sidney Fuller Smith Library followed by the fraternity crest and in writing, "Gift of James A Bailey"; Signed by Associated .
