VG+. 1st Edition, 1st Printing. 13 x 19.7 cm paperback with an illustration by Sue Sluglett to the front and blurb and �4.50 price to the rear, 176 [4]pp. Signed by the author to the half title page with photograph taken at the signing laid in. A very good plus copy with some creasing to the spine and a little uniform toning to the page edges. The author's signature is clear and bold. A very scarce item particularly signed it is now protected in a rigid, clear, removable plastic cover. This was Winterson's first published novel and won the Whitbread prize for a first novel in 1985. Synopsis

Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit is a novel by Jeanette Winterson published in 1985, which she subsequently adapted into a BBC television drama. It is a bildungsroman about a lesbian girl who grows up in a religious splinter community.
