[Tokyo: Printed under the sponsorship of the Tokyo English Literature Society], 1979. 8vo., patterned orange cloth in dust jacket. A rare anthology of modern Japanese poetry written in free verse. In his Preface Kaneko writes about how difficult it is to translate Tennyson into Japanese whereas Carl Sandburg translates better because of his free-verse form. Signed presentation from Kaneko on the front endpaper: "To Mrs. C.E. Perry, With best wishes! From H. Kaneko. 12 July '79." Fine condition; some fading spine & 1.5-inch tear top of spine d/j.
