About This Item
Boston: Little, Brown & Company, 1924. Hardcover. Fair. Decorative Designers. Hardcover, seagreen cloth binding with blue and light blue cover design by The Decorative Designers, with their monogram to front cover, 8-1/2" tall, 188 pp. Waviness to cloth on front board due to moisture exposure at some point, else a good solid copy with wear and soil to be expected from a cookbook of this vintage. Chapter four is titled "Dinners Calling for Three, Four, or More Hours of Cooking," and proceeds to recipes without comment. This is followed by "One to Two Hour Dinners," and followed by "Quick-Meal Dinners," all of which chapter headings show how much more time the (usually) housewife spent preparing meals than in many modern household. The following chapter is devoted to plank cooking, an early & extensive treament of this subject.
