First edition. hardcover in dark green/grey paper covered boards lettered in gilt over tan cloth spine. 81 pp. Antique map of the City of Philadelphia reproduction endpapers. Numerous full page sepia etchings of famous Philadelphia locations and buildings, additional line drawings in the text of old firefighting apparatus and house marks of fire companies. Very good, some wear to the extremities. Issued by the Franklin Fire Insurance Company, a monograph on this hsitory of fires, the methods of fire fighting in the 19th and early 20 centuries.
