About This Item
Salt Lake City, 1930. First Edition. 115pp. Quarto [30.5 cm] Green wrappers with title and illustration printed on the front panel in red, gold and black. Near fine. Illustrated throughout with black and white images. Typed letter signed by Grant, on his letterhead, attached to the front free endsheet. Grant thanks the recipient (Belle M. Taggart) for her work on 'The Message of the Ages.' Grant signed or inscribed thousands of books, but there are only a handful of titles (Prince of Peace, Power of Truth, Finding God in Millersville) that one sees. The inscription refers to a production that was presented at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on April 6th, 1930, titled 'The Message of the Ages.'
"Christmas 1930. Belle M. Taggart. Dear Sister: As a small token of appreciation of your free-will service in the sacred pageant 'The Message of the Ages,' given April 6 to May 5th, 1930, I take pleasure in presenting you with a copy of 'One Hundred Years,' a souvenir of the Centennial Celebration of the Organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, together with a pamphlet containing the full text of the Centennial Address of the First Presidency. With gratitude for your unselfish participation in the pageant and wishing you every good blessing through the years to come, Sincerely your brother, H.J. Grant(signed) For the First Presidency.
