London: Geo. Lawford, Saville Passage, 1828. Two volumes, 1828 and 1833, bound in contemporary half vellum over marbled boards, the back gilt with red morocco label, marbled end papers and edges. Embellished with two hundred and eighty engravings on wood. With distinguished provenance, with the bookplates of Michael Tomkinson, (1841 - 1921), Royal Axminster carpet manufacturer and noted collector of Japanese art, medieval manuscripts, and early printed books, bearing a large and ornate coat of arms designed by J. D. Batten (1860-1932). Very Good Plus, vellum lightly soiled and light edge wear, a tightly bound and quite attractive set. . First Edition. Half Vellum. Very Good Plus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
