Sixty-eight color lithographs by Howard Pyle. Reissue of Pyle's edition without color, first published 1891. "Mr. Pyle has practically redrawn in color his own original illustrations, with results that give the volume an additional charm." Early 20th century owner card on free endpaper discussing her pleasant rides in one hoss shay's. Clean, bright copy, slight rubbing to spine ends.
