Harcourt, Brace And Company, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No edition stated. 1177 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Introduction copyright 1929. Pages are visibly tanned with minor foxing throughout. Heavier tanning to text-block edges, pastedowns and endpapers. Pen and pencil marks to front free endpaper. Heavy cracking to hinges, with exposed netting. Pages 1173-1177, rear free endpaper and pastedown with small tears. Binding is shaky. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surface. Notable tanning to spine and boards edges with some fraying cloth. Dark marks to spine with prominent crushing to spine ends. Light stains to rear board. Gilt lettering is darkened.
