About This Item

Cambridge: The Riverside Press, 1902. [1902] Set of TWO VOLUMES, gilt lettering, gilt to top edges, printed maps in text, 739 pages including Index. Note: Books are dated 1897 by Houghton, Mifflin and Company. However, since they were reprinted by The Riverside Press, the circa is 1902 [but no date printed in volumes other than 1897]. Condition of bindings: Minor shelf wear, some age discolorations, soiling. Internally: Several pages not opened; those that were opened by the readers have various short page tears [some of the leaves were untrimmed during the printing of the book, so several were opened by the former readers]. Overall, the text is clear, fine - very readable. Maps are clean, vivid. Book set stored in temperature-controlled environment - no smelly damp stains or the smell of a previous cigarette or cigar smoker. Set in Very Good Plus condition. The work begins in 1792 and covers such topics as Western Planting, the Powhatans, Beginnings of the Commonwealth, The Kingdom of Virginia, The Maryland Palatinate, and more. A very collectible book set - highly informative. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical, vintage book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly. . Hardcovers. Very Good Plus.

About R. Siedlecki Vintage Books

We are a well-established, well-respected dealer that is professional, honest, and ethical in our business dealings. We tend to describe each book in a reserved, conservative manner, rather than oversell a book or sidestep the responsibility of addressing its flaws. Book club editions and library books along with books without dustjackets (if they came with dustjackets) are pointed out in our descriptions. We describe our books in detail, pointing out the precise condition of each book based on our opinion. It's your assurance that the book we describe is as close as possible to the book you’ll receive. In business since 1991, we typically have five-star ratings on major web sites.
