About This Item

London: Constable and Co, 1921. First Thus. Leather bound. Near Fine. W. Heath Robinson. Small 4to. Pp. xi; 200. Six color plates, many b&w illustrations; frontispiece; three-quarter navy morocco over navy cloth; raised bands with gilt-decorated compartments; marbled edges and ffep. Heraldic school device to front panel, in gilt. Remnant of old prize label on front pastedown, trifling wear to corners. Includes Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots, Cinderella, and others, as well as a few by Mme. d'Aulnoy and Mme. Leprince de Beaumont. The original binding for this uncommon book was cloth; this deluxe binding appears to be a custom design; the prize label indicates the book was presented by a headmaster to a worthy student.
