About This Item

London: Herbert Jenkins, 1951 A very good copy of the 1st edition in the first issue wrap, which reviews of 5 Wodehouse titles on the back panel, a 3 paragraph summary of the book on the front flap and 44 Wodehouse titles on the back flap ending with Nothing Serious. The binding is bright and clean with some darkening at the bottom edge of the front board and a bump to the front bottom corner. The other corners have light rubbing. The spine, which is slightly cocked to the front, has some pulling to the ends and a tiny pale mark just under the title. The contents are complete and clean with 2 pages of adverts at the rear. There is some foxing to the endpapers - rear endpapers have some additional staining and a small crease at the side edge of the free endpaper. A few spots to the foredge. The jacket, designed by Frank Ford, is complete and in good to very good condition. There is darkening along the top edge - visible mainly at the back panel which is white - and which is also slightly grubby. There is some scuffing along the top edge and an old crease at the top of the spine. Internally the top edge is brown-stained. The front flap has a price of 9/6 at the bottom.

About E C Books

E C Books is a small online bookselling business, specialising in pre 20th century works:natural history, science, history, and travel, aiming for rarer and more unusual books. Our largest stock area is Natural History, where we have a good range of books from the 1700-1800's, many finely illustrated. Other areas include children's books, particularly late 1800's-early 1900's - again illustrated; and literature pre 1900.When you order books from us we ensure that they are properly packed to protect condition, and we always use recorded or 'signed for' postal services for more secure delivery. Please note that we have recently moved to the beautiful Orkney Islands, where we intend to open a bookshop over the next year. Because of our location we cannot guarantee 'next day' delivery but we will get your purchase to you as quickly and safely as we can. Please note that the buyer is responsible for the payment of any tax or duty on import.
